The last remnants of black music history are gone. Of course we know that the current day version of Universal Motown is a shadow of its former glory, however thanks to corporate mergers the last few years we’ve lost Stax, Chess, Vee Jay, and now what was left of the legendary Motown Records is about to be a memory.
The rumors have been flying for weeks … and today, reality hit home as the UNIVERSAL MOTOWN roster, including the remainder of CASH MONEY and SRC artists, migrated over to sister label UNIVERSAL REPUBLIC, with most of the UNIVERSAL MOTOWN staff leaving the company.
Meanwhile, the UNIVERSAL MOTOWN imprint becomes part of ISLAND DEF JAM MUSIC GROUP.
In addition, the UNIVERSAL MOTOWN REPUBLIC GROUP (UMRG) and ISLAND DEF JAM MUSIC GROUP (IDJMG) have outlined a new centralized back-office structure to dramatically increase artist investments across its labels.

Pac was one of my favorite artists. Hopefully he found that peace he was looking for on the other side. Happy 40th Pac.
One of my homegirls sent me this video to see what was my opinion about it. All I can say is…Damn!
He might be on to something big.
How and the hell is this a news story? There are so many other things to talk about. Everyone knows there is no sex in the Champagne Room. Peep the vids below.
